Our popular Cornwall Coastal Path Walk was postponed in May because of the COVID-19 restrictions and we agreed a new date in October.

Sadly, the continuing restrictions mean we won’t be able to meet safely as a group and so unfortunately we won’t be able to hold this year’s Coastal Path Walk in the normal way.

But as Robert Kiposaki said: “Inside of every problem lies an opportunity.”

With that in mind, we are thrilled to invite you to complete your own 25 mile Coast Path Walk between now and the date of the planned event on 3 - 4 October.

The best bit about doing it your own way?! You can plan the days, the times and the route!

Perhaps walking 25 miles over 25 days?! Mapping out a month’s worth of dog walks? Or even nominating someone to do the miles for you!

When finished we’d really appreciate it if you could email in a photo of yourself (or of your daily walk route) to info@chicks.org.uk holding a sign that says ‘I did it!’ so that we can create a photo of you all to commemorate your success and share on our website and social media channels.

CHICKS Regional Fundraiser Mick Ryan has a special message of thanks to all those who had planned to take part in this year's Coast Path Walk or who has joined him for one of the last ten year's of events: "My huge thanks go to all the fantastic people I have walked with over the last ten years. The vast amount of money raised has gone towards funding breaks for thousands of disadvantaged children and young people at our Retreats - we have you amazing supporters to thank for that."

If you've ever wanted to take part in this event or were planning to this year but for any reason weren't able to, now's your chance to join the fun and enjoy the beauty of your favourite Coast Path Walk in your own time, your own way, while raising funds for CHICKS!

CHICKS

CHICKS is a children’s charity providing free week-long respite breaks for hundreds of children and young people living in difficult circumstances across the UK.

From our Daleside Retreat in Derbyshire, children and young people aged 8-15 who are living in poverty, suffering the effects of bullying, abuse or bereavement, or coping with the responsibilities of being young carers are given the chance to escape their challenging circumstances. The chance to have adventures, create positive memories and build their confidence.

CHICKS has provided much-needed breaks to more than 16,000 children and relies solely on the generosity of supporters to fund this vital service. £1.8m is needed every year to continue giving children the opportunity to be children.
