Raising and Giving is an annual week of fundraising and spreading charitable spirit across the community of St Andrews and is part of the University of St Andrews Charities Campaign. Our fundraising is focused on (but not limited to) the three charities that are nominated by the students of St Andrews each year. Over the course of RAG Week, volunteers, societies and sports clubs all get involved to raise money for our charities.

Each year, the week consists of over 40 events, ensuring that there is something for everyone; from club nights to 5K races. We collaborate with other student societies and sports clubs, hosting dRAG Walk - St Andrews’ LGBT+ drag show - in collaboration with the university’s LGBT+ society. Other collaborations have included Wax Collective music events, Yoga Brunch with Yoga society, Raclette Night with French Society, Pint and Portrait with Surf Club and a sponsored walk with Breakaway society to name but a few.

University of St Andrews Charities Campaign

The St Andrews Charities Campaign is the official charitable subcommittee of the St Andrews Students’ Association. We aim to raise as much money as possible for three nominated charities, elected by the St Andrews student body every year. In 2019/2020, we are supporting Women for Women (International), CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) (National) and The Yard (Local). From Race2, our European hitchhike race, to CATWALK Fashion Show, we do what we can to fundraise for our nominated charities and support any other student fundraising in St Andrews. The St Andrews Students Association is a Scottish registered charity, reg. number SC019883.
